Recycling and Solid Waste Management

Supporting Sustainable Waste Management and Zero Landfill Waste

Test your knowledge of UF recycling!

Check your Recycling IQ!

The University Physical Plant Division (PPD) Recycling and Solid Waste Management Office manages the collection and disposal of all solid waste generated through University of Florida operations. We continually work to find better ways to reduce, reuse or recycle all campus wastes through sustainable waste management practices. The goal is to divert 90% of waste from landfills.

Help eliminate waste!

Across campus, and in every building, are thousands of conveniently located and clearly labeled containers for recycling and “waste” that the Recycling Team services on a regular schedule. University students, faculty, staff and visitors must do their part by striving to reduce waste generation and by putting materials in the proper bins. Contamination can spoil an entire load of recyclables!
