PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
The office of Preventive Maintenance maintains, upgrades, and generates weekly work orders for the scheduled maintenance of all equipment within the University of Florida. By creating PM work orders, this office ensures the smooth operation and increase life of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on campus.
Within the University system, there are two types of Preventive Maintenance Work Orders. The first are called E&G work orders. These are the normal repair work orders that are paid for out of the PPD maintenance fund. The second type of work orders is referred to as 'pay jobs'. These are usually requested by a department and may not be defined under normal maintenance operations. These are paid for by the requesting department.
