CIVIL ENGINEERING
Civil engineering section's primary functions are:
- Review plans and specifications for new construction or renovation projects to ensure that UF Construction Standards are followed.
- Perform inspections on water line, sanitary, storm sewers and irrigation lines during construction projects.
- Coordinate and conduct fire hydrant flow tests.
- Review crosswalk requests and provide recommendations to the Transportation and Parking Advisory Committee.
- Update the University's utilities plan for civil site work.
- Provide technical support to Systems Department in civil area.
- Evaluate and estimate work orders related to water, wastewater, storm, irrigation, and reclaimed water.
- Update database for fire hydrants, post indicator valves, and backflow preventers.
