Operations Engineering-Civil

Civil engineering section's primary functions are:

  • Review plans and specifications for new construction or renovation projects to ensure that UF Construction Standards are followed.
  • Perform inspections on water line, sanitary, storm sewers and irrigation lines during construction projects.
  • Coordinate and conduct fire hydrant flow tests.
  • Review crosswalk requests and provide recommendations to the Transportation and Parking Advisory Committee.
  • Update the University's utilities plan for civil site work.
  • Provide technical support to Systems Department in civil area.
  • Evaluate and estimate work orders related to water, wastewater, storm, irrigation, and reclaimed water.
  • Update database for fire hydrants, post indicator valves, and backflow preventers.
