Health Science Center-Construction
The Construction Auxiliary was established to facilitate the needs of the ever growing Health Science Center in minor construction and miscellaneous items. The standard hourly rate for construction projects is $36.00. Projects range from installing a simple electrical outlet to a full zone remodeling. Services include but not limited too:
Construction: masonry, drywall, acoustical drop ceilings, trim work, doors and windows, locks and hardware, minor concrete installations, vinyl composite tile, ceramic tile, minor asbestos removal, shelving, countertop & cabinet installations, and painting.
Electrical: lights, receptacles, emergency power, rough-in boxes for telecommunication, switching, and disconnects for equipment.
Mechanical: minor ventilation needs, exhaust for equipment, thermostat relocations, and small Fan Coil Unit installations.
Plumbing: gas, vacuum, and air installations, domestic water, de-ionized water, drains, heating hot water, chilled water, and sink & faucet replacement.
Work can be initiated by submitting a FM-Span Work Order via the Internet. To use this application you will need a Gator-Link account. If the scope of the work involves life safety egress, adding a wall, modifications to a doorway, or any large-scale project, submit a "Request for Alteration, Renovation, or Refurbishing of Existing Space" to the Facilities Design and Construction Management department. Someone will get back to you with an estimate and a time frame. If a specific time frame is required, please indicate this on this form.
