ROOFING/SHEET METAL
The roofing mechanics provide periodic inspections and preventive maintenance to all E&G (Education & General) building roofs and gutter systems. There are also several auxiliaries that use these services on a billable basis. The shop uses and maintains an 80 and a 120-foot Hi-Reach to help in our work. All work includes re-caulking, recoating flashings, repairing and cleaning trash from roofs and gutters. We also clean and seal the exterior brick and stonework on our older buildings as time permits.
The sheet metal mechanics are involved in the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of ventilation and air conditioning ductwork systems. They also repair and replace roof curbs, drain pans, louvers, grills, diffusers, gutters and downspouts. In addition, they fabricate specialty sheet metal items for the various shops at Physical Plant.
