PAINTING

The Paint Shop maintains the painted surfaces of interior, exterior, and public use areas (hallways and bathrooms) of the E&G (Education & General) use buildings throughout campus. The standard wall paint colors are off-white and light gray. The Director of Physical Plant must approve any exceptions to the standard colors. All maintenance painting is done on an as-needed basis. Cosmetic painting requests are billable to the department making the request.

A large part of the Paint Shop's work is painting repaired surfaces after another trade such as Carpentry or Masonry has completed work. The Paint Shop is also the department responsible for graffiti removal. Every effort is made to remove it as soon as possible.

They will also try to paint offices that are in need when there is a change in occupancy because it is helpful to everyone if painting can be done while the space is empty. If you know of an office that will be vacant and needs painted, please call the Work Management Center at (352) 392-1121. Two weeks notice is appreciated for scheduling work. The Facilities Department also maintains an annual contract for painting services to assist the Paint Shop with meeting customer needs.

If you notice areas that need painting or have any questions, please let us know. To submit a work request, call Work Management Center at (352) 392-1121 or click on the Submit Work Order Link above.
