CARPENTRY
Sixteen highly skilled employees make up the Carpentry Department. Their chief concern is the maintenance of the University's E&G (Education & General) buildings. Colleges and Departments that occupy these facilities do not incur any costs for the routine maintenance and repairs to the buildings.
The carpenters are also available to do small renovation projects (as work load permits). Such projects are considered "pay jobs" and are billable to the requesting department. Contact the Work Management Center at (352) 392-1121 to submit a request for service.
Several specialty crews in this department perform work such as removing asbestos containing materials, installing ADA power-operated door openers, and maintaining and operating the seating at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
If it's a door, window, ceiling, wall, floor or anything in-between, this is the Department that will
do the work!
